Indoor Days and Baking

It's been one of those cozy indoor days with drizzling rain. I had such a wanting to bake today so I made up some English Muffin Bread for toasting. It's a really yummy yeasty quick bread, great for a little snack or teatime with jam or cinnamon sugar.
English Muffin Bread
2 packages yeast
6 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon soda
2 cups milk
1/2 cup water
Cornmeal

Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and soda. Heat liquids until very warm. Add to dry mixture. Beat well. Stir in rest of flour. Spoon into 2 bread pans (greased and sprinkled with cornmeal). Cover, let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes. Bake at 400°for 25 minutes.
