No Blog Title Is Coming To Me

I really hoped to blog before now, but Jacob came home for a long weekend and didn’t leave til Tuesday and with one thing and another it is Thursday already. There was a big snowstorm forecast for today, but I think it will yield very much less than predicted, which is good. I love to see a pretty snowfall, but we already have so much snow. When the kids were little they would have loved these huge piles from plowing.

My days just seem to be dissolving lately, and there is not much to blog about. Besides which, I thought I would write this blog post this morning when I felt much spiffier, and now my brain is wanting to be done for the day. I am going to make a quick chicken chili for supper and then Jack and I will watch American Idol, which I’m just very disappointed in this year for various reasons. Even Harry Connick, Jr. can’t make up for the things I dislike, and if anything could, he would. I was shocked at the girls’ night this week, coming away with not one favorite, absolutely no one I am interested in. The boys were much better. I guess tonight I am just curious who people voted for, who will stay in the competition.

mendedI’ve been wanting to share my to-read book list, so I will do that soon, but in the meantime will mention one book I’m almost finished with. Angie Smith’s Mended. I really enjoy her style of writing and have a handful more books of hers I have not read yet. If you haven’t heard of her, she is the wife of Todd Smith of the group Selah and writes for various (in)courage blogs as well as her own blog, Bring the Rain. Mended is just a really good book that I can identify with a lot.

  1. Hi Pam, sometimes it is not easy to come up with a title.
But I always have something to share. I have a couple of Selah's cd's.
I went to American Idol taping last year and it was really interesting.
I went to a touring concert when Mandisa was on it and I love her music.
I will check out your recipe and the book. I am so happy you are blogging. I love to hear what is going on with my friends. Do you miss drawing graphics? Do you still scrap? I added some pics at my blog so stop by when you get a chance. Hugs

    1. Hi Susan :)
If you checked out the link for the chicken chili recipe in this post, didn't it look good?! Mine doesn't quite look like that...and I cook my chicken first before adding, so I can get it made faster, but we really like it. I think back to those days when I made graphics. It seems like another life to me. I still love looking at the little graphics you have on your site. Brings back a fun memory-type feeling and I noticed you are using my Valentine's Day graphics! Boy, that took me back. :) I sure had fun making that set. I sometimes think of making blog graphics but maybe more like scrapbooking or printables to download. I haven't done any scrapbooking for a very long time. I would like to, there just never seems to be any time left over. Off to look at your latest posts and photos!

  2. Pam, I so love Angie Smith & her books! I have all the ones she had written so far. I've followed her since before she lost her sweet Audrey, & was always so inspired by her & her sweet testimony.

Speaking of inspire - you also inspire me! I so love coming here & finding a new post. It's always like sitting down with you. So please do continue to post. I guess that's pretty pitiful - me, the non-blogger, trying to convince you to blog. :) I did post my SWD on my blog though, so that is a start.

I can't get into American Idol this year either. I thought Harry would revitalize the show.

So glad that Jacob was able to come home for a long weekend. Do you just want to sit & chat & have family fun when he comes home?

Please don't give up on me & that long email. It's coming. :) Praying for you Pam. So much I'd love to discuss with you, as we seem to have the same heart about much. Love you!

    1. Hi Judy :)
So fun to hear you enjoy Angie, too! I remember going to a Selah concert years ago and there were little girls on the stage after the concert was over. It's fun for me to realize, even though I didn't know about their family then, that those were the girls I am reading about now. :) I'm so glad you feel inspired coming here...I do really want you to keep blogging, too. I think I am realizing over these last very hard months how much I need to recover the camaraderie we all shared when blogging. And yes, when Jacob comes home, it probably sounds crazy but all we do is sit around and watch tv & movies together, laughing and munching on something. We do plenty of talking too so I don't feel bad for the tv time. Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you! :D

  3. Hi Pam. I only watched AI for a few years. Last year was a disaster, so I haven't even tuned in this year. I rarely watch network television. I got rid of cable a couple of years ago and the kids watch Netflix now. Dan and I usually watch LOTR, The Hobbit, Star Trek, Star Wars, or Pirates of the Caribbean trilogies. I have a few of Angie Smith's books, but I've only read one so far. Need to pick up another to start soon. I spend too much time messing around on the computer. Have a blessed weekend!

    1. Hi Tammy :)
I especially love television series, like Bluebloods, Person of Interest, etc. so I would have a hard time getting rid of satellite, though if we had to, then I would just read more! and I would love that quite a lot. But I do love Netflix for that, catching up on series I didn't see when they came out. Like Jericho. So, I'm with you...spend too much time on the computer writing and researching while my to-read books pile up. :)

  4. Hi, Pam. I visit here often but don't usually leave a comment. So rude of me! :) I haven't watched American Idol for a long time so don't even know who the judges are now. I do understand that the program just isn't what it used to be. I've not heard of Angie Smith. I see Judy likes them too. I should check her out. Have a lovely weekend!

    1. Hi Melanie! :)
I don't think it's rude at all. :) I'm really happy to hear you visit. These days whether it's a lack of time or a day I just can't summon the wherewithal to be social, when I am able to visit, I am heartened by the smile a friend's post brings to my face and just hope they understand when I don't leave a note. :)

So fun to hear you like Angie Smith, too. :) We always end up watching AI even when we think we're not going to, but I sure enjoyed the X-Factor much more. Ran circles around AI, though I don't think that is the public sentiment since the show was canceled, but I think the talent was so much better. I think AI went downhill when Simon left. ;)
